In Lucknow, what initially appeared to be a road accident in the Chinhat area was revealed to be a meticulously planned murder orchestrated to collect insurance money. The truth behind the demise of Puja Yadav (28) came to the surface when an insurance company's investigation raised suspicions, prompting the police to reopen the case. On May 20, 2023, Puja lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in Chinhat. Her father-in-law, Ram Milan, swiftly reported the incident as an accidental death, which was initially accepted by the police. However, further inquiries from the insurance company cast doubt on the circumstances surrounding Puja's demise, prompting a reevaluation of the case. Heading the investigation, DCP East Shashank Singh asserted that Puja's death was not an accident but a carefully planned murder carried out by her in-laws and their associates. The elaborate scheme revolved around a Rs 50 lakh life insurance policy taken out in Puja's name, with the sinister intention of claiming it after her death. The plan also involved obtaining loans and acquiring multiple vehicles under Puja's name. Investigations revealed that Kuldeep Singh from Barabanki was the mastermind, convincing Ram Milan to have his son Abhishek marry Puja with the ultimate goal of ending her life for financial gain. Deepak Verma served as the driver of the vehicle that fatally struck Puja, while lawyer Alok Nigam provided legal counsel to ensure the flawless execution of the conspiracy. Together, they enticed Puja to Matiyari on May 19, where she was tragically killed by a four-wheeler in an isolated location. The following day, the incident was reported to the police as a road accident, with the conspirators even posing as witnesses to support the false narrative. Upon the insurance company's queries regarding Puja's demise, the police reopened the case and uncovered the true motive behind the murder, involving the insurance policy, loans, and vehicles. The financial aspects were included in a scheme to benefit from Puja's passing. Kuldeep Singh, Deepak Verma, and Alok Nigam have been apprehended, while authorities are still seeking Puja's spouse, Abhishek, and her father-in-law, Ram Milan.
